Scarasta beach is a vast expanse of sand on the southern end of the Isle of Harris. On this particular evening the light was simply stunning with an ethereal quality that is rarely witnessed on these islands. It felt like a dream to be witnessing such beauty. I scoured the beach and found this huge piece of driftwood that had been washed ashore in the previous days storms. Composing the image to take advantage of the best light over the Sound of Taransay in the distance I created this image which look absolutely stunning when printed large.
